| Do you know the low-level differences between an Intel and AMD chip? Do
you have the skills and desire to deal with top level managers at the
top computer hardware companies in the world? Are you looking to make a

Look no further.
This person will work on a team that will evaluate, test, and help set
the global hardware standards for the firm. This person will help set
strategy and direction for the distributed hardware platforms that the
firm deploys. This person will work directly with the other Technology
teams, and have heavy vendor interactions for the products that the
firm is currently using and evaluating.
Principal Responsibilities
This person will work on setting the hardware standards and hardware
strategy for the firm globally for products such as servers,
workstations, desktops and laptops for both the X86 and Sun
environments. This person will help set strategy for the products the
firm will be using. Duties will include product testing, solution
engineering, analysis, operating system installation, and decision
making criteria for choosing products.
Title: hardware Engineer
The following technical skills are necessary:
* 3 - 8yrs of work experience
* Expertise in Intel, AMD, Dell, IBM, Sun, and HP hardware products and
design
* Expertise in Linux, Solaris, and Microsoft build engineering,
evaluation and testing
* Experience with SAN and networking technologies
* Experience with Data Center technologies, methods and design
The following soft skills are necessary:
* Ability to focus on deliverables and meet deadlines - be able to deal
with multiple interrupts
* Excellent communication and organizational skills - Ability to work
closely with others on the technology teams
* Must be very detail oriented
* Possess analytical skills
* Project management as there is heavy interaction with vendors
* Strong communication skills
The following skills would be a plus:
* Trading floor experience
