Replacing AIT-2 drives in Cybernetics tape library

We have a Cybernetics library model CY-TL8-2015-8050 which has two Sony
AIT-2 drives in it (SDX-500C). One of the drive is not working and we
need to purchase a replacement for it. We would like to buy from
another company other than Cybernetics (it's a long story) and we are
wondering if the new drive would be compatible with our library. In
other words, do these drives have to be customized for Cybernetics
libraries? Any help would be appreciated.
