Background info :

EMC Celerra IP : 10.36.96.217
Backup Server IP : 10.36.96.208

Backup between the two works fine, however has to go through a switch
and drains the main bandwidth available from the Celerra, so what I
have done is directly connected a port on the Celerra via cat6 to
another gigabit nic on the Backup server.

EMC Celerra IP : 10.200.1.1
Backup Server IP : 10.200.1.2

I can ping both directions no problem. However trying to mount any
shares like \\10.2001.1\apps fail with a error64 "The specified network
name is no longer available." I have even added the hostname of the emc
(emc1) to the hosts file on the backup server with the 10.200.1.1
address and tried a \\emc1\apps , fails with the same error.

What am i missing ? How can i get the backup server to directly backup
the EMC ?
