With a storage array in AVT mode (so that luns move from one
controller to the other if I/O for that lun reaches the other
controller), a Windows host with a dual port HBA, and each
controller has ports, there are 8 possible paths to the lun.

Is is possible to configure the HBA failover using SanSurfer
to control the order in which it tries those 8 paths? In
general, with the RAID in AVT mode, you want all 4 paths to
the original controller to be exhausted first as switching
controller is very expensive, especially when other hosts are
also accessing the same lun.

It appears that you can only set a primary and an alternative
path, which is only switching from one HBA port to the other,
only 2 of the eight paths.

Thanks,

David
