No I am not in a wrestling compo with a HDD. I have (stupidly) connected
my molex AND my SATA power connectors to my WD SATA drive and now my
system won't see it. Actually I don't think it's even spinning up which
leads me to believe I have toasted the controller card.

Sending it to a data retreival company costs hundreds of pounds. I have
read somewhere that I could try buying an identical drive and swapping
over the controllers. Do you think this would work? How easy is it to
get them off and back on again?

I even thought about taking advantage of WD's warranty returns system
which would allow me to get a new drive before sending the old one
back!!
