I'm in the market for a SATA RAID controller. How does Highpoint's
8-port hardware raid PCI-X solution (RocketRaid 2220) compare with
Promise's 8-port hardware-assisted raid PCI-X solution (Fastrack
SX8300), performance-wise? I'm leaning towards the former however the
lack of on-board memory cache is cause for second thoughts.

I'm focusing on highpoint and promise products due to budget
constraints (and my needs do not require high-end performance otherwise
I'd go for the Promise EX8300!)

Any recommendations / comments?
