How to Enable eSATA?
|
|
|
| I'm seeing a lot of enclosures these days brag about eSATA compatibility,
and I guess this translates as "External SATA". Is eSATA simply a
standard for how to make the cabling and connectors for external connections
more robust than the connectors used internally? If yes, how do you
convert a normal SATA adapter over to be compatible with eSATA cabling?

There are lots of products out there if what you want to do is use one
or more of the onboard SATA connectors to connect to an eSATA enclosure,
for example:
http://sewelldirect.com/eSATA-1port.asp
Takes up one of your PC slots and turns one of your internal SATA ports
into an external one. Try google for SATA and ESATA, lots of stuff out
there.
