Author NetApp FCP : find a lun's VPD page 83 identifier ?

NetApp filers allow you to create luns on top of volumes, and export
those as FCP targets.
Although the port/node WWN and lun number can be used to identify a
given target thus exported, these numbers can change (by re-exporing
the lun on a different lun number for example, or, God forbid, by
somebody changing the node name with 'fcp nodename').

It would be really nice to use the VPD 83 identifier to identify a lun,
which shows up on your initiator looking something like this :
60a9800043346462484a38535846374e.
Sadly none of the lun show commands on the filer seem to display that
number.
"lun show -v" and 'lun serial' show a serial number, is that somehow
embedded into the VPD83 identifier and is that as close as I can get ?

Thanks a lot in advance !

Arne

PS. I am running ONTAP 7.2
