| hi,
As i understand Visual SRM can scan different types of storage and
collect information about the resources. ex: Exchange server,
SQL/Oracle DB server or some network drive. in case of network drive,
VisualSRM can collect size info for all folders and subdirectories
insie this mapped drive. How is this scanning done? How does VisualSRM
architecture implement this scanning?
thanks in advance.

| Hi,
VisualSRM is based on a principal server holding the application and
repository, and Host agents installed on machine you want to monitor.
These agents communicate with principal server via TCP/IP connection.
They are able to monitor simple FS, Exchange mail server, and MSSQL or
Oracle databases.
Regards,
Luc
