Debian install from floppies doesn't work...
|
|
|
| I am getting feeling that Debian sucks, and it sucks very badly. I have
read that manual about installing Debian from floppies, I have made
these floppies boot,linux,root,driver1-4 and I have done exactly like it
reads in manual. But however. But, when I try to start installation...
1. I insert that boot floppy. And press enter. like it says in manual.
2. It says that "error loading linux.bin change floppy.." only floppy it
will accept is that linux-floppy
3. It will load until it will start screaming some kind of error:
0200
AX:0212
BX:B600
CX:5101
DX:0000
(I am not sure but I think it connects to read error in disk or it's
file is corrupted.)
And it will keep printing that to screen until hell freezes over. So I
am I right when I say that starting Debian installation from floppies
isn't working. And by the way. I have tried different floppies, another
computer and everything. (Like getting those floppy images from another
mirror)
So why this shit distro isn't starting installation program?

I've installed several computers with exactly this method. Sorry, but I
don't know the reason it's notworking for you.

Yes, that's how it's supposed to be.. (the "root" disk)

.... that not, however. Are you sure your images are correct? Try a
different floppy and redownload the image (or verify its md5sum).
Sorry if you've already done that, but that's the type of problem that
comes to mind here.
