Hi everyone

I recently went from testing to unstable on my debian box. On restarting
X, I noticed that all the icons in gnome 2.8 stopped working. Instead of
running the application on double-clicking the icon, the icon.desktop file
gets opened in a text editor, and the graphical icon on the desktop
dissapears and is replaced by the icon of a text file. I tried creating a
new launcher, but on clicking the select icon box, the /usr/share/pixmaps
folder doesn't display any icons. I'm pretty sure that this is a nautilus
problem. The reason why I think this is because, nautilus is not
thumbnailing images anymore when I open a directory with images, and this
could be the reason why it is not displaying icons either. I tried
restarting nautilus, and also tried re-installing it using apt-get but it
didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix it?
