Hi,

I'm running Linspire 4.5. Would this be a related newsroup or is there
another Newsgroup, that is closer to this OS than alt.os.linux.debian?

Thanks

Linspire.com might have web forums or mailing lists, or maybe even a
news server.

Linspire is based on Debian, so it's on-topic according to the group
charter. However, most of the regulars here seem to use Debian itself
rather than a derivative, so the amount of help you can expect will be
in inverse proportion to the extent of the differences between the two
distros.

There is also a group called alt.os.linux.lindows where Linspire would
be on-topic, but according to Google it hasn't received any non-spam
posts for a few months. alt.os.lindows also exists, but Google doesn't
have it so I don't know if there's any traffic.

I'm sure there are also Web forums or mailing lists.

(None of this is intended to discourage you from posting here.)

Thanks, alt.os.lindows is what I was looking for.

Hi. Most likely the newsgroup from within Linspire is the best for you.
It's available via CNR program. I am running Linspire 5.0 on my Sony
laptop and it's working great!!! Almost everything works. Sound, video.
The only thing that I haven't figured how to get working is MIDI, but I
hardly use it. I am running a dual boot with Grub. I also have Win4Lin
installed and have Windows ME that I can run from within Linspire 5.0
Have fun! Steve.
