Hi,

I've several users using my Laptop.
They all need access to /proc/acpi/event.

Right now, the following line is added to /etc/profile:
chmod 440 /proc/acpi/event. Because of th nature of the /proc directory
i have a little problem.

I have to login (console) as root first to set the rights for the other
users everytime I did a reboot or system start. Sometimes I want to
login as another user rather than as root.

Second question -- where do I have to set the chmod command for all
users when I boot directly into gdm. I'm not quite sure if this is
within etc/gdm/gdm.config possible.
