Only using the editor env : will check out editor command.

BTW, you were right : SLRN rocks. I just wish it would be offline/cache by default too without need for further tinkering.

so in .bashrc

export EDITOR=emacs

and in .slrnrc

set mouse 1
set Xbrowser "firefox %s"
% set use_slrnpull 1
% set write_newsrc_flags 0
set sorting_method 9
