/usr/share/doc/slrn/examples/slrn.rc.gz

But the example is for Jed.

No. Slrn will post whatever the editor provides unless there's an
actual error.

You might be able to add an option to your editor_command instead. It
works for me with vim, and emacs is much more configurable, isn't it?
