| Howdy. When attempting to login to my Linux
box via telnet, I get this error:
telnetd: getpty: No such file or directory
And then the connection is immediately closed.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Woody, sarge or sid? Why are you using telnet and not ssh?

[You shouldn't be using telnet, but...]
is /dev/pts mounted?
