| hi,
i have a slackware 10.0 installation working all fine. on the free
partition, i installed ubuntu 4.10.
now, both show different times. it is like, ubuntu's time = slack's
time + 0530 HRS. (timezone of both is set to GMT+0530 hrs
asia/calcutta, if that gives any clue).
if i fix ubuntu's time, slack shows a wrong time(ubuntu's - 0530) or
vice versa.
any settings could be wrong?
(hope this post is on-topic here)
thanks in advance

Sounds like one thinks is is on GMT even though you have it set correctly,
while the other is set correctly. If you're using KDE you can set the
system through the Control Centre.
On either system, from a console window try 'man hwclock' -- this controls
the hardware clock, from which the OS draws its information, I believe.
