Author Installation of Sarge fails with Kurnel modules error

Hi,

I am trying to install Sarge under an AMD64 bit system with SATA
drives. I get as far as the hardware detection stage, and then get an
error regarding the Kurnel I am using for the install is different
from some of the modules I will be installing, and this will cause the
install to fail. This is before partitioning the drive or anything.

Can anyone help in order to get round this?

Thanks,
Andrew.

Try to select another kernel. Read the instructions at the boot prompt
if the installation CD/DVD carafully, they explain how to choose the
installation kernel.

Ok I am now starting with linux26 to get a 2.6 kurnel, however, I
still get the error about no modules being found. I am also unable to
detect our network card which is listed as a Via Gigabit network
adapter.

Any clues?

Thanks,
Andrew.

Where did you get the installer image get from, and which version do you
use? Did you try the latest release of the installer images?

The files were downloaded a fortnight ago from the official Debian
mirrors. I don't have the necessary bandwidth to get new images
really - am only on a 64k connection.

Thanks,
Andrew.
