gnome clock applet dying

Hi,

I've used KDE for years, but am new to gnome -- after working fine for a
couple of months, suddenly my clock applet dies on startup.

Is there a log that will help me find out why? (it isn't in dmesg or the
messages files).

Any help appreciated!
