| Setup:
Soyo K7ADA Motherboard
Maxtor 30G HDD - 5T030H3
Riva TNT2 M64 32M APG Vid Card
256M PC2100 DDR Memory Stick
I'm using purchased 2-DVD set to install. I know the disks are
okay because, I've tested them on another machine.
During the 'Starting Partitioner', it always freezes a 38%.
I've tried every boot option which could pertain to my particular
setup as listed in the help screen with no success.
I've switched out the video card & HDD from a box that it did
install okay on, and that did not help - same 38% freeze.
Also, Woody installs w/o a problem. I'm left to surmise that it
just doesn't like the Soyo motherboard for some reason.

Have you tried any of the other modes for the sarge installer? You
could try the 2.6 kernel option and see if sarge likes that better.
There are a few different options for the installer that may be helpful
or at least help you to narrow down the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I've since purchased a new motherboard
and the problem vanished.
Yes, I did try what you suggested, and nada. Had to be that the
MB went bad, or something.
