Author XTerm -C can not grab /dev/console ?

Dear all,

When starting my X session, I usually have a console xterm started
with the -C option. It recently stopped to work, probably after a
apt-get update/upgrade. This is Sarge unstable. The device permission
access permission seem to be okay. Here is a bunch of information:

The messages are still printed out in text console though (alt-Fx).

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance.
