| i just did a fresh install of the debian base system & selected the "desktop
workstation" option at the final stages of the installation. this is on a
old gateway 233 mhz pentium desktop. the installation appeared to be
successful, however, on the bootup messeges, there is a problem with
modprobe finding / loading psmouse.
when i tried to install / run x, it would not start, when trying to start it
again, i got messeges noting that it could not find pointing device. when i
was setting up x, when in the "setting up mouse" dialog, i chose "ps2" &
chose the default "/dev/mouse"
apparently, the psmouse module is missing from the kernel.
is anyone else having these issues ?
& what can i do to fix this.
i dont have this problem when i use the systemrescue cd

It's a shame Linux has such difficulty running some of the more popular
Windows applications: Nimda, CodeRed, Klez, WPA, Swen, SoBig, ILOVEYOU,
MyDoom, Witty, Netsky, sober, Mimail, Dumaru......
Windows was created to keep idiots away from Unix.
