Very strange, voice has been removed (filtered out) from all audio
files, all I hear is just the background music, sound is acting up like
I have voice removal plug-in for XMMS but enabled on all my audio
applications (Audacity/Xine/RealPlayer/Streamtuner).

I have un-installed all audio related libs and apps in an attempt to fix
this problem with no success! Using Synaptic, I completely removed
xine/xmms/jack/rosegarden5/esound/arts/alsa/alsa-utils/alsa-oss and all
their related libs and config files. deborphan shows no libs and I have
no gnome/kde apps installed. I use WindowMaker, it was fine yesterday!

any help is greatly appreciated
