Don't see any Ubuntu groups on the server list, and it is
Debian-derived.
I'd suggest cross-posting to here and comp.os.linux.misc.
I run Debian. What's your challenge?
"Doe" is it? Were you ancestors poachers? :-\

People who post through google take and take and never give
back. How many of them have you seen help someone? If they are
asking about anything but how to use a real newsreader, PLEASE
DON'T HELP THEM. -----------> news.software.readers

Ubuntu is mostly the same as Debian, but some specific questions might
be better answered in ubuntulinux.org forums or mailing lists.

Okay, thanks.

I'll post a new thread about it now that I know it's okay to post here!

Quite the contrary! Actually, we're vegetarians. :-)

Yes, I use the forums at ubuntulinux.org, but I figured there'd be a
much broader range of *ix users here who might be able to help with
various issues.

I'll help if I can. Ubuntu is real graphical, and I'm a
commandline kind of guy (although I do run my Linux from
x-terminal-emulators).

Does are 'vegan'.
I searched the Web. No doe has ever been seen eating
a soy burger with animal-milk cheese on top.
:-))
By-the-way, referring to your post to Bill, it's usually
"*nix" (which isn't right either). *ix Are For Kids. :-\
For what it's worth, I like just plain "nix".

You can find Ubuntu news on news.gmane.org as well.

There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary numbers, and those
who don't.

I wonder if our quadrapedal newbie understands that that is
a non-usenet newsserver rather than a newsgroup?
