Question about debian-user and the linux.* hierarchy
|

| Many of my posts to debian-user mailing lists are silently dropped. So,
I have suscribed to the linux gate (linux-gate@lists.bofh.it), but my
messages are rejected because:
>linux.debian.user is a moderated newsgroup in gateway

But I am definitely registered to the linux gate. I use Google news as
my news reader. Is anybody is the same situation as mine? Have I missed
something?
Obviously, I have no problems with standard ng's.

Part of the reason why this newsgroup was created.

Please contact the list administrators about this.

Contact the administrators at linux-gate@lists.bofh.it about this. Are you
trying to post via Google? If so I am not surprised that your articles are
being refused. You may be registered but Google isn't and is not likely to
be.

Did you try subscribing to debian-user?
You send an e-mail to debian-user-request [at] lists.debian.org with a
subject of "subscribe".
If you are subscribed, and you don't spam the list, you have a much
higher chance of getting your messages onto the list.

Done, no replies. However it looks like this is a documented bug.

Done, no replies. I am subscribed to Google, debian-user and the
linux-gate.

No, don't do that. That gets debian user in your email box.
What he should do is subscribe to whitelist@lists.debian.org I
believe; somone correct me if that's wrong.
However, that only solves the Debian lists problem. It won't help
with his linux-gate problem. btw, I too have suffered through the
same problem, sent off the requisite admin mails, and was heartily
ignored for all my efforts. Turning on an obscure exim feature turned
out to be the fix.

Wow, I didn't know that. I've just subscribed to whitelist and I'll let
the NG know it that worked, soit maight be useful to other users.
