problems with NIC card during load

| I am new to the Linux comunity and
I have a Dell Poweredge 2950 with a PERC 5 configured as a 300GB RAID
5,
dual broadcom gigabit network adapters
4GB RAM
DVD/CD-rom
no floppy
I am not able to load the debian-31-r4 release due to it can not see
the network cards
If I tell the load that I do not have a NIC and it continues it does
not see the disk.
I found a Dell linux site http://linux.dell.com/debian_9g.shtml that
recomended I download and load build 1115
I loaded this version and during the build it recognises the NICs and
the hard disk, but after the reboot it no longer recognises the NICs
any ideas on how I can get the 31-r4 release to work. I am trying both
paths
Thank you

| I tryed to load the 11 December testing version of the software and it
loaded but when it started the sustem stoped with the following error:
check root=bootarg cat /proc/cmdline
or missing modules, devices: cat /proc/modules ls /dev
ALERT /dev/sdb1 does not exist. Dropping to shell
There is no sdb1 file in the /dev directory
and when I do a cat of the /proc/cmdline file I get
root=/dev/sdb1 ro
any new ideas?
Thank you

You might have to use Knoppix + Debootstrap if you're really stuck on
Sarge. Also consider using the linux26 boot kernel when attempting to
install.
However if all else fails, you might also try to install Etch. It will
be the next "Stable" Debian distribution before the end of January I think.
