I'm using Ubuntu 6.06 and Gnome what is the best software for copying
DVD's CD's and ripping mp3's into audio tracks? And where and how do I
download it.

Thanks.

I use Rhythmbox playing my CD and tracks ripped. Rhythmbox uses
SoundJuicer, which works real good for me. SoundJuicer is ripping to
ogg-format and CD labels from MusicBrainz. If you need mp3-format (or
other), I use SoundConverter for this. And those also get shared using
daap (for iTunes and other players who knows Apples music sharing
protocoll). I also has mt-daapd istalled on my file server (a Linksys
NSLU2 running Debian/Etch).

Need to set up RB and SJ to play from and rip to ~/Music/ and make Pod
cast go into ~/Podcast/ and let SoundConverter write to ~/MP3/

With this set up MP3's and Pod cast's don't get sent to Last.fm and
MP3's are easy to find to send to iPods, MP3-players and Mobile phones.

So on server I have mt-daapd package
On klients rhythmbox, soundjuicer and soundconverter packages

This is my set up for handling my music set up. Works great in my
network. Only need to tunnel daap out of my network to my desk top
with ssh when not at home so I can play my music anywhere (guess RIAA
wouldn't like that, as I don't need to by that music again in new
format :-))

Good luck and Gott Nytt =C5r to you all.
