Does debian see the ethernet adapter? What brand of notebook is it? Is
the ethernet adapter in the notebook or the docking station? LILO
shouldn't have any effect on an ethernet adapter, but some laptops are
weird and docking stations are weirder.

| well well,
notebook is IBM ThinkPad 570E, Ethernet is in Docking station.
debian does see the adapdet no problem at all, I'm connected to the
workgroup see other computer surf the net etc. the problem's only in
win2000 after install debian, the network adapter just disappear from
the device list, I deleted all the disk and install win2000 from
scratch (no debian at all) the adapter appear again.
