I just received a letter about COX v. Microsoft, Case No. 105193/00. They
mention that the result will be $12.00 for each copy of Win 95 through
Millenium edition, $5 for each copy of DOS 1 through 3.11, and $5 for each
copy of Office, word, excel licenses. I refused the offer and ask not to be
part of the class action suit and that "I would prefer to see that Microsoft
have to prove over a period of time that they have stopped their practices.
I personally feel that I still see problems with the industry refusing to
allow other platforms to evolve. Example is video, sound, and networking
hardware companies not releasing hardware programming specifications to non
Microsoft OS companies unless they pay large fees for licensing and strict
agreement requirements."
Anyway, this is my attempt to help the linux community.
Billy
