Amarok 1.3 on Ubuntu 5.10 mp3 fails to play

| FYI,
After trying gst-register-0.8 as both root and user several times, and
several reloads of libmad and liblame, finally started deleting items from
the /home/"user"/kde/apps/amarok directory to see what was preventing
access to mp3 play.
Apparently, there was a bug of some sort in the sql-lite db. Deletion of
the db, one more round of gst-register-0.8 and restart of amarok and mp3's
play fine.
Didn't open DB with anything else to check mp3 flags, but likely there is
a flag set on the mp3 filetype when libmad, liblame and thier gst plugins
are not in place.
Try it, then BLAST!

| I don't know enough to know what all you are doing, but did you go to the
"restricted formats" Ubuntu help page and cut and paste the commands to
d/l and install the files to play mp3?
