| Thanks for your help with the use of the apt utility. I appreciate it.
A few questions remain. I'm using an IBM Thinkpad 385XD Series 233mhz and
KDE. Yes, its a little sluggish, but its still useable.
As for the other interfaces you mentioned outside of gnome and kde I'm not
familiar with using them and I don't know if I can get 800x600x65k as I can
with kde.
I ran cfdisk and now have a 136mb swap file vs. the old 35mb swap and I
freed up 500 mb by removing gnome. Thats good news.
My issues that still remain are:
1. What are the minimal requirements needed for CUPS so an IP printer can be
configured and how can I be assured that all of the printer drivers are also
installed with it. I had a problem with this the other day where my printer
did not show up in the drivers list.
2. How can I get the sound working with the 385XD? I tried Auto, the others
didn't work, but OSS didn't complain, I just never got any audio.
Thanks again in advance..
