| Hi
Why is the latest updates on bind9 not putting any symbolic links in
any /etc/rcX.d ??
bind doesn't start at boot because of that... i've have to create by hand
a /etc/rcS-d/S68bind9
are they just forgoten or is there a new way to start bind9 from now on?
Regards

I really don't know if this is the same bug.
I got my own compiled 2.6 kernel and don't use udev (still use static dev),
on other hand, few people use bind (a DNS server)... so, i don't know if i
wore using udev it would stop starting, and if the guys that report this
bug would they talk about bind in case they use it. :/
Anyway, i got my problem solved (i created a link in /etc/rcS.d)... just
post this question because i was curious about it and it might help
somebody else with the same situation
Best regards

Well the bug was not really about udev but about sysv-rc and friends
- in short there were problems with the links in the /etc/rc*
directories ...
Anyway, I'm glad it works again for you ;-)

Right! only yesterday i found out that my nfs server was also not starting
at bootup...
im going to be aware of this because as soon as this situation is corrected,
i'll probably be with repeated links in /etc/rcX.d

The bug itself is fixed, anyway there might still be a problem if you
don't fix the links.
Look at /usr/share/doc/sysv-rc - especially changelog.Debian.gz and
update-rc.d-recover.gz (probably you want to unzip the latter and run
it).
