how to select a font?
|
|
|
| Hello,
I have a few good fonts, and I would like to use them in Gimp.
The problem is that they come in many weights and shapes, and I cannot
see the difference in the font-list of Gimp. For instance, Myriad comes
in 8 weights, but they are all called Myriad MM. Univers similar.
If I try to select the different weights, many look very similar. The
very light and heavy variants seem not to work. Does someone know how to
select a particular font with fontselect, or is there a better way?
Thanks.

With "xfontsel -scaled" you can select the font, size, weight, etc.,
then click "select" and you can paste (middle-click) the font name into
a terminal or a text input box.
