When I do a apt-get update the output just hangs:

Hit http://http.us.debian.org stable/contrib Packages
Hit http://ftp.debian.org etch/contrib Sources

99% [9 Packages gzip 0]
[1]+ Stopped apt-get update
asterisk:/home/henkoegema#

I have to stop it, to get my cli prompt back.

Is there something wrong in my packages list?
It always gets to 99%.

Grds.
