I've just installed Linux Debian from a single CD, now, in order to
download and install/upgrade I need to find out how to configure my
56K USRobotic modem, but I don't know what program is installed
already in my sistem or if I have to download it under Win and then
save it to later install it on linux.
Well, any help will be MOST appreciated.

There is a script called modemsearch or searchmodem or modemdetect or
something like that which will attempt to identify your modem and lead you
on the way.
