'apt-get' cannot find 'libgtkmm2.4-dev', my '/etc/apt/sources.list'
looks like this:
#deb file:///cdrom/ sarge main

deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r4 _Sarge_ - Official i386 Binary-1
(20061116)]/ unstable contrib main

deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib

deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
#deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US stable/non-
US main contrib non-free

deb http://debian.mxchange.org/debian stable main
deb http://www.dedale.eu.org/mirror/debian-multimedia/ stable main
deb-src http://www.dedale.eu.org/mirror/debian-multimedia/ stable main

Am I missing a deb source site?

Your sources.list looks good, but there is another dash in the package
name: libgtkmm-2.4-dev .

Notice the "-" before "2.4"

I typically use "aptitude" to browse and install packages. It makes
things much easier--especially when it comes to package removal time.

Hey! Thanks!
I had a look at the documentation in DevHelp, and, what-a-heck! the
documentation has it wrong.
I hope the doc'er sees this message.

They prob. doesn't, so you should make a bug report.

Yes, we all are, by the way. You did top-post.

Good luck
