SATA drive with NTFS not being detected properly
|
|
|
| I have several drives in my computer including 2 SATA drives. One is a
250GB and the other is a 120GB drive. The 250 is partitioned into 2
NTFS partitioned and is where I have my Windows XP Pro. This drive is
detected correctly in Ubuntu. The other drive though, the 120GB drive
is a single partition with NTFS and it is not detected properly in
Ubuntu. When I was intially installing Ubuntu and when I bring up
GParted, it says that this drive which is /dev/sdb1 has an unknown file
system. Why is this and is there anything I can do to fix this other
than reformat the drive? The drive works fine in windows. I would like
to get this drive working as there is some information that I would like
accesss to.

I know that, but I want to be able to read it with Linux and there is no
reason that I can see that I should not be able to.
