| I have recently installed Debian Linux Sarge in my PC, at the
beginning it was running smoothly, but now it is getting very slow.
What can I do to make Linux run smoothly again?
Thanks!

Sorry, but my crystal ball is broken, so more information is needed:
- What did you change before Debian started to run slowly?
- Did you install any demons before that might cause this effect?
- what does top say? Is there any demon or process needing too much CPU
or memory? If yes: What happens when you stop that demon or process?

There is one thing that you NEED to do to make it possible for us to
help you: Give us some info to work on.
You are giving us WAY TO little information. What hardware do you
have? What software do you have installed on your system? Did you
install something and it started to work slowly? Did you change some
configuration file (like under /etc directory) befor it started to
work slowly? WHAT is geting slower? Opening maps or surfing on the
web?
Second thing I would recommend: You shoudl REALY use Debina/Etch,
which is the new stable. Debian/Sarge is sold now, and should not be
used on new installations.

You said Evolution and Iceweasel were getting slow. What versions of
these applications are you using?
How did you get Iceweasel onto Sarge? *
What is your /etc/apt/sources.list?
---------
* Iceweasel is not part of Sarge. If you have Iceweasel on a Sarge
system, it's either because you compiled Iceweasel from the source, or
you had "stable" in your sources.list when Etch went stable, and now
you're pulling packages from Etch--making your system a confusing
mixture of Etch and Sarge.
