- ( http://distributedcomputing.info/ap...ce.html#setinew ) New SETI@home
had an unexpected power outage on February 23, which corrupted the new
database server's database. The project owners are attempting to repair a
replica database from which they will restore the main database. They
hope
to have the project servers back online tomorrow.
- ( http://distributedcomputing.info/ap...tml#seticlassic ) Classic
SETI@home was also affected by the power outage. It needed one day to
check all of its databases. It is back online and catching up with the
backlog of client connections.
- ( http://distributedcomputing.info/ap...#einsteinathome )
Einstein@Home fixed a small bug in its result validator on February 23:
this bug incorrectly marked some results as invalid. Also, yesterday the
project changed the setup of its email system to fix a problem in which
some users did not receive account keys. Users who did not receive an
account key should go to a "Get account key" page on the project website.
- a beta version of the new
( http://distributedcomputing.info/ap-science.html#eon ) eOn Windows GUI
client is available as of February 22. The client was updated yesterday
with improved graphics, a fix for a screensaver preview bug, and new
options for transparency and always displaying the window on top of other
windows.
