The following updates are from the distributedcomputing.info website
( http://distributedcomputing.info/ ). These updates cover public distributed
computing projects (projects in which anyone can participate).

May 31, 2005

- new (to this site) active mathematics project:

Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5 is looking for the smallest base 5 Sierpinski and
Riesel numbers. The project found prime 159106 * 5^89982 + 1 on May 29,
57316 * 5^38250 + 1 on May 26, and 128896 * 5^89436 + 1 on May 25.

- ( http://distributedcomputing.info/ap-math.html#xyyxf ) XYYXF factored
100^99 + 99^100 on May 26

- ( http://distributedcomputing.info/ap...ml#proofreaders ) Distributed
Proofreaders will be offline starting at 10 PM PDT tonight (1 AM June 1 EDT,
6 AM June 1 UTC) to convert the website and projects to a new proofreading
format with 2 rounds of proofreading and 2 rounds of formatting. The project
coordinators do not know how soon the website will be back online.
Participants are encouraged to proofread for

Distributed Proofreaders Europe during the Distributed Proofreaders site
conversion.

- development version 4.44 of the
( http://distributedcomputing.info/platforms.html#boinc ) BOINC platform is
available for Windows as of May 26. Development version 4.43 (4) is available
for Mac OSX as of May 23. Development version 4.43 is available for Linux as
of May 23, and for Solaris as of May 26.
