Workshop on hardware Parallel Evolutionary Computation
http://neo.lcc.uma.es/staff/gabriel...c-workshop.html
Evolutionary algorithms and computations are computer-based solving
systems, which use evolutionary computational models as a key element
in their design. They have a conceptual base of simulating the
evolution of individual structures via the Darwinian natural selection
process. Evolutionary algorithms are non deterministic search
techniques designed as an attempt to solve adaptive and hard
optimization tasks on computers. In fact, it is possible to find this
kind of algorithms applied for solving complex problems in economy,
telecommunications, bioinformatics, etc. However, evolutionary
computations require a large computational effort to yield efficient
and competitive solution to real-size engineering problems, often
being the only techniques able of solving such challenging
applications. Therefore, parallelism is necessary to not only reduce
the resolution time, but also to improve the quality of the provided
solutions. We seek papers on all aspects related to the
parallelisation of evolutionary algorithms.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Parallel genetic operators
* Parallel fitness evaluation
* Distributed genetic algorithms
* Parallel hardware implementations
* Applications
