Entering keystrokes above 127 witht the keyboard.

I'm slowly moving from OS/2 to linux. With OS/2, when I need to enter a
character that doesn't have a key I would just alt-keypad-xxx with xxx
being the ascii value of the character.

How do I do it in linux?
