I'm trying to calculate per process cpu utilisation on RHES 3.0 where
the processes are multithreaded e.g java, apache. When I look in /proc
I see along with the pid, there are also .pid files as well.

My question is: If I want to calculate the total CPU utilisation of the
process, to I have to use the stat of the .pids as well?
