Author Can't configure gnome pilot.

After fighting to get /dev/pilot created with the correct permissons upon
hitting the hotsync button the cradle I tried to set up gnome pilot with
the Applications -> Preferences -> More Prefferences -> PalmOS Devices.
It didn't work.

In the cradle setting dialog I have

Name: Cradle
Port: /dev/pilot
Speed: 9600
Timeout: 2
Type: USB

In the Pilot Identification dialog I have:
"Yes, I've used Sync software with this pilot before"
checked.

I then hit Forward and hit the hotsync button.

Nothing happens until the phone times out.

The thing is if I open a terminal hit the hotsync button and run
install-user it works fine.

What is wrong?

PS I've subscribed to the fedora-config-list but whenever I try to post to
that list it is bounced with no message except for

-Unprocessed:
[the bulk of my message]
-done

Does anybody know what is wrong here?
