I am in need of some guidance. I edited the /etc/fstab file for an NFS
mount. The boot process is hanging on the mount.

How does one
1) boot into single user mode
or 2) edit this file during boot
or 3) cause the boot process to skip this step.

If the network cable is reapplied, it then hangs at "sendmail"

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks
Ron

Boot with the installation CD and floppy if needed, when the menu screen
is displayed type 'linux rescue' without the quotes. Answer a few
questions and read the messages displayed on the screen. Pay attention
to the one talking about the chroot command and use it. Either edit
the /etc/fstab file or copy (cp) the /etc/fstab~ file (if available)
back to /etc/fstab

chkconfig --levels 345 sendmail off

FYI: RHL9 is no longer supported (ended April 30, 2004) by Red Hat and
all support may end sometime in the future. Consider upgrading to
Fedora Core 3 or 4 (due out shortly);
