Boot with the installation CD and floppy if needed, when the menu screen
is displayed type 'linux rescue' without the quotes. Answer a few
questions and read the messages displayed on the screen. Pay attention
to the one talking about the chroot command and use it. Either edit
the /etc/fstab file or copy (cp) the /etc/fstab~ file (if available)
back to /etc/fstab

chkconfig --levels 345 sendmail off
FYI: RHL9 is no longer supported (ended April 30, 2004) by Red Hat and
all support may end sometime in the future. Consider upgrading to
Fedora Core 3 or 4 (due out shortly);
