Hi, am very new to linux & im struggling big time, any help here would be
really appreciated...
My scenario:
I have a normal 1mb dsl connection with my ISP on my winxp box, I have
networked a fedora 3 linux box together & 'somehow' managing to share the
internet connection not quite sure how i did it ! (am complete novice)
My query is .... I cannot see my linux box thru windows ie. network places
ect & cannot see my windows box with linux, all i can see is the linux
version of My Computer & an icon that says 'Windows Network' yet when i
click it an empty window appears
If there are any links or good sites that could help with explaining the
basics, would also be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

To share FC3 with XP try documentation on this site
http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/

For linux to see XP shares
install samba client from your installation CDs or if installed yum

I show samba-client-3.0.10-1.fc3 as my latest release
but you will most likely need samba-common-3.0.10-1.fc3 and
samba-3.0.10-1.fc3 to share fc3 with xp. You can use the
system-config-samba tool to configure FC3 folders to share with XP.

When samba client is installed I just open location with
smb://xphost/xpsharename to access axpshare on windows but you can setup
permanent mounts by adding entries in /etc/fstab.
