Identification and Workgroup in RH9.0

| I am changing my office OS from Win98se to RH9.0. My office has 15PCs. I
have just installed one PC and will be installing the remaining PCs by this
week. I am also a Linux newbie. I have chosen the Desktop option. The LAN
and internet access hardware consist of a 24-port hub and a D-link DSL-500G
ADSL router-modem.
I did a network configuration on this first PC and was able to access the
internet by way of the router gateway which has been assigned IP address
192.168.100.1. But I could not find an identification or workgroup feature
for me to set up for this PC. In normal Win98se, there is an identification
and workgroup tab or menu for one to setup. Where can I find this? Or did I
miss it out somewhere in the configuration setup in RH9.0? Or could it be
that in RH9.0, there is no need for an identification and workgroup.

There are two ways to create a host ID and workgroup ID , edit the file
/etc/hosts and place in it the
IP address , <workgroup.compName> , <alias name>.
You must also keep the IP address of 127.0.0.1 for your local loopback .
Also in Gnome , open up System-Config-Network and enter the relevant details
in the Hosts Tab and DNS Tab.
Changing over 15 PCs to Linux is a big step , especially if you are new to
Linux , the best way of doing it is by a gradual implimentation by setting
up the main Linux file server / print server / router first and then change
over a few PCs at a time so as not to have very much downtime or major
headaches.
