Assuming you have Gnome installed, click on 'Session' at the bottom of the
login screen.

Thank you for the help. But I start the X windows by "startx" command after
I logged in to the system. Therefor I do not have grapihical login screen.

try "switchdesk gnome" at the shell prompt (without the quotes).

edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop
