Author NFS hangs on startup

I'm running Redhat9 on an IBM x235 eserver with dual Xeon 2.8's and 4 Gb
ram.

When the systems boots up it hangs for about 15 minutes while starting the
NFS Server.
It eventually starts up and I am able to login and NFS runs flawlessly.

Can anyone tell me why it is so slow to start up and/or how to troubleshoot
it?

Thanks
Rick
