Does anyone knows how to send sms messages to cell phone via regular
serial modem attached to centos4.3 x84_64?

You need a service that supports it. I believe the protocol is TAPI.
Basically, you dial in with a modem and specify the destination and
message in a string. There are a bunch of programs that do this in teh
Windows world, one that we use is "Whats Up", a network monitoring and
notification program. There must be something out there that runs under
Linux. Check out metrocall, they provide dial-up sms for their wireless
products.
